PastKast is looking to grow, and grow a lot. We want to grow until we dominate the world and surrounding planets. To accomplish this small goal, we’re going to need some help.

We need people. Good people. Good people who don’t care about money, are intelligent and creative, and have some time on their hands. There are few things more rewarding than being part of a movement from the early stages. You can be part of that movement. Here’s how…

Writers
This may be our biggest need. The number of teams we cover is limited by the number of people writing. So if you’re a talented writer, we need you.

The ideal candidate has been following us for a while and has a good feel for the concept. They are also an expert on the team they want to cover, and already have established a presence in the forms of Twitter and a blog. Send us a sample of your work. Better yet, write up a unique piece about the team you want to cover.

This person will also need to be committed to the project. Yes, it’s cool and fun and different, but it is — at minimum — a year-long commitment. It involves taking care of Twitter and other online content, and nurturing your online presence.

That said, we provide structure. Certain tweets will be done for you. We have a strategy and processes in place for you to follow. And you’re covering the past, so you can do much of the work on your time and schedule big chunks in advance.

What’s in it for you? Well, more exposure. You are joining a team that is headed in an exciting and unique direction, and your name and face will be part of that. Unlike @TweetsFrom1982, we will put a name, face and personality behind each team we cover. That’s you.

Social Media Superstar
PastKast was born on social media, so it should be no surprise that we want to continue to kill it in that area. To help, we need one or two people who can build and nurture communities on multiple websites.

We’re looking at social bookmarking sites like Digg and Reddit. But we’re also looking at dominating other niche sites as well. Each community has its own tricks for success, so the ideal person will already have generated their own audience in multiple communities, be an expert in the field, and have a passion for what we do.

Programmer/Designer
Two different things, and it’s rare that someone comes to the table with both skills. But if you’ve got ‘em both, awesome.

We’re pretty happy with how PastKast.com turned out since it was built on very short notice. We also had a plan from the beginning that this would only be Phase 1. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be much more complex. Not only will we need to account for other teams and seasons (complicating navigation and date/time stamps), but we will add layers of community and customization that you can’t accomplish with the current site.

Do you love what we’re doing at PastKast and want to help us reach the next level of cool, levels that have never been reached by man (or woman)? Success of this project depends on it!
