Last week, the Brewers faced these same Rangers in Milwaukee. The Crew was desperate. Defensive flubs and pitching mishaps led to a Rangers sweep and a five-game Brewers losing streak.
But then the Blue Jays came to town and helped raise the Brewers’ spirits. Three games later, Brewers pitchers have allowed a total of two runs and the Brewers are working on a three-game winning streak.
No, the offense isn’t scoring at a mind numbing pace. But that’s why consistent pitching is so important. You won’t always score five or six runs. When you don’t, you still want a chance to win.
